Thanks to the brilliant guidance posted on this site, I’ve been able to lose all the weight I’ve set out to lose. I would say that I am now in the best physical shape of my life.

However, I now need to stop losing as I’m currently 8 lbs below my goal weight. I’m unable to increase my intake of food much, as I’m hungry. I did add more servings of nuts and avocado throughout the week about 4 wks ago but I am still losing.

I realize 8lbs doesn’t seem like much, but I really don’t want this to get completely out of control.

Thanks for the well wishes guys!

Just getting home from my doctor’s appointment. I was given the go ahead to do some light exercise. No weights yet though. I’m going to start tonight with an easy evening yoga routine. Hard to believe that I still have quite a bit of bruising yet. It taking so long to heal because it was deep bruising with a lot of swelling.

Can’t wait to get back into the program though.

I’m unable to do much in the way of exercising right now. On Friday I had a very bad fall – down a set of icy cement steps. I’m very badly bruised but I also know I’m lucky to not have broken anything. I look forward to when I can get back to my fitness routine, but I have some healing to do first.

    Hi Nikki,

Sorry to hear about you not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon. I also wanted to thank you for the encouragement and kind words that you’ve posted on my log. It seems that you’re struggling a lot like myself. I have to kick myself in the butt every morning as a reminder that I’ll never see the change I want if I don’t make the change happen now. It’s going to be a long, tough journey but I believe that each and everyone of us are capable of acheiving all our goals. Stay positive and keep reminding yourself why you’re here and you’ll soon see the results you’re looking for.

Yesterday was a busy day, so I didn’t have time to update my log. So here goes: did a short yoga warmup and then did day 8 of the workout program. Then I did a 20 min yoga workout. Yoga is really helping with not only my muscle soreness and stiffness, but my flexibility is also improving and my hip pain has lessened as well.

    Day 9 done.

    Hi Tati,

Hope you enjoy this site. I joined a week ago and can already notice a few small differences. My energy level is starting to pick up and I can feel my core actually getting stronger. Enjoy the journey your about to embark upon.

Thank you Martin. Reading the posts that you and others are writing is really helping to keep me on track.

Day 6 done! Feels good to get the first week in. I’ve been doing yoga as a daily addition for a few days and this has really made a huge difference for me. My muscles aren’t as tight and sore thanks to this wonderful exercise, which makes it easier for me to get motivated to do the workouts in the 12 week + pushup challenge. It feels terrific to have found an exercise that I actually look forward to doing. Added bonus: no equipment needed, so this is easily done while traveling.

Day 5 done! I found this workout to be easier (not easy by any means), probably because there’s no jumping in this one. My muscles are still sore and stiff so I did 30 minutes of yoga as well. This seems to really help me with the soreness and tightness.

Today is a rest day, but my muscles felt sore and stiff so I decided to do some yoga to help loosen up. It’s amazing as to how well yoga works. It will definitely become a big part of my fitness and well being make over that I’m currently working on.

On, I forgot to mention that the reason I’m having so much difficulty with the workouts is not just because I’m out of shape (which I am), but also because I’m also still recovering from Guillian Barre Syndrome. It’s been a long tough road to recovery, but now I need to make sure I’m challenging myself so I don’t end up plateauing. And this is a great place to make sure that I’m always challenged.

Day 3 of the 12 week + pushup challenge is done! I am really struggling with any move that involves jumping. I modified the lateral box hop by not using a box and doing a very low to the ground hop to the side instead. When performing the squat jumps, I barely cleared the ground. But, at least I can say that I got this workout done!

Instead of using the warmup provided here, I used yoga to warmup. By doing this, I found that I wasn’t wiped out before I even started my workout. I also used a short yoga routine as a cool down- I’ve noticed there isn’t a section here that provides information on cooling down.

Martin, thank you for your kind words and encouragement!

I finished day 2 of the pushup challenge. Hoping to be able to do at least 2 full pushups by the end of the year. I have a long way to go, but I know if I work at it I’ll reach my mini goal.
